A MESSAGE FROM THE ESP REC-COUNCIL PRESIDENT
To all ESP volunteers, parents and participants,
I would like to take this time to THANK YOU for another memorable year for our recreation council. The kids of our communities
have greatly benefitted from everyone’s hard work and dedication. We continue to grow our programs and add new ones to fit the
needs of all participants and none of this is possible without your support. In addition to our program growth, we also added
some community events like the Tree Lighting Celebration at the Volunteer Fire Department; an event we hope continues for
many years to come. We were also blessed with the success of our Haunted Dungeons and Edgestock fund-raisers, which are
very important backbones to the stability of our Rec-Council. It is our goal and hope to continue ‘raising the bar’ when it comes to
the role of this Rec-Council in providing great opportunities and experiences for the children in our communities.
2012 is going to be another exciting year with a lot of hard work ahead for our volunteers. Because of the growth of our programs
and our desire to continue providing these great opportunities for ALL kids, we are going to put a huge push on getting more field
space for our outdoor and indoor programs. In order to do this we need everyone’s help. We have set-up a webpage
(http://esprec.com/Karll-Property.html) with the contact information for all of our local politicians that we would like everyone to
email and express the need to add field space at the ‘Karl Property’. For years we have been hearing “there is no money”, yet
continue to see various projects moving forward in other communities within the county. Well, now it's "Our Turn." We can
accomplish this TOGETHER AS ONE COMMUNITY, not as a few individual’s. The future of our kids rest in our hands and we
need to stand as a unified force to help make this happen.
I encourage everyone, as always, to come to our rec meetings on the second Monday of every month to hear what is going on and
to participate in our community events. What better “New Year’s Resolution” to make than making a difference in your community
for our children’s future. Again, THANK YOU for all of your support over the past year! May everyone have a Merry Christmas
and a safe and prosperous New Year.
